Summary

In the 1960s, Ric O’Barry trained the dolphins for hit TV show Flipper. When one of his dolphins died in his arms, he dedicated his life to protecting dolphins worldwide - and exposing what was happening in a hidden cove in Taiji, Japan.

Every September, 20,000+ dolphins are herded into a heavily guarded cove in Taiji - sold to aquariums worldwide or slaughtered for meat. The town presents itself as dolphin-friendly. What happens inside the cove is fiercely protected from outside eyes. Director Louie Psihoyos and his team of activists, freedivers, and filmmakers risk everything to reveal what the world isn’t supposed to see.

Part nature documentary, part spy thriller - and one of the most important environmental investigations ever committed to film.
